The first full day in Tahoe was filled with activities. After getting everyone out of bed, we warmed up the cars, fixed some parts and headed out to Emerald Bay for a morning hike down to the water. Even though there was minimal snow, the beautiful weather made up for it. After making it down to the beach we found an area of untouched snow, which turned out to be a layer of thick ice crystals above a semi deep snow pack. Being down in Emerald Bay is definitely worth the hike in both the summer and winter seasons.
