Stumbled upon the Jimi Hendrix Shrine as I was trying to make my way back to downtown. As I am a guitarist, this place was calling my name.

Painted guitars alongside the wall lead up to this groovy shack type place.

Inside was a memorial to all that was Jimi Hendrix. This dude in the back seemed to be like a historian or caretaker of the place. He explained to me that Jimi Hendrix’ grandma owned a fried chicken restaurant right here in Vancouver! He would come up every summer with his dad to work there. The shrine is set up in what was the storage room of the restaurant where Jimmy supposedly channeled the guitar gods and practiced.

Definitely an unexpected find and a pleasant one. I was feelin’ the spiritual vibes from this spot for sure. If you are in Vancouver its an oddity that’s worth the visit.
